Cork Airport is partnering with Tourism Ireland and Norwegian Air to launch an extensive marketing campaign in the US to promote tourism in the region, comprising radio advertising, targeted social media, promotional engagement with tour operators in the US as well as Providence radio station, Lite Rock 105FM.
The campaign, which is being launched this week in the greater Boston region, will drive awareness of Cork and its unique position as the Gateway to the Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland’s Ancient East as well as promoting the direct transatlantic access to Cork with Norwegian.
Lite Rock 105 is one of the most popular radio stations in Rhode Island. This Thursday 9th and Friday 10th November, Stephen Donovan and Heather Gersten, presenters of its morning show (pictured below) will broadcast live from The Blue Haven, Kinsale on from 10.30am-3.00pm.
They will interview many people from Cork connected with tourism and The Wild Atlantic Way in Cork and Kinsale and have some spot prizes to give away too!
The broadcast may be found on the website literock105fm.com
and on Facebook literock105 or Twitter (@LiteRock105). Please follow and share on social media and feel free to send welcome messages to our friends in Providence RI.
Niall MacCarthy, Managing Director at Cork Airport believes the campaign will be hugely effective in supporting tourism in Cork and the wider region.
He said: “There is a significant investment from all three partners backing this campaign that will reach millions of potential US visitors. We have such an array of attractions right on our doorstep and we’re using this campaign as an opportunity to exploit that to the maximum effect.”
“Since its launch at the start of July, the new direct transatlantic service with Norwegian has been performing very well. We want to make sure we maintain that momentum and continue to put Cork front of mind with US tourists thinking of visiting Ireland. We have a direct gateway into the heart of the South of Ireland and with that comes a fantastic opportunity to build and expand on the route’s success to date.”
The marketing campaign, supported by Cork Airport, Tourism Ireland and Norwegian, is running throughout November and December.
