Kinsale and it’s food was mentioned in many of the Irish newspapers over the weekend. Not just for the upcoming 34th Bollinger Kinsale Gourmet Festival (next weekend, 8-10 October 2010), but also for winning awards!
The Blas na hÉireann Irish food awards were announced over the weekend and Kinsale’s own The Blue Haven Food Company walked away with a Bronze Medal for their Smoked Salmon Pate in the Terrine & Pates category and a Gold Medal for their Wholegrain Mustard & Honey Dressing in the Vinegars & Dressings category. To top it all they were honoured as winners of the AIB Award for Business Diversification. Read more at http://www.irishfoodawards.com/news.asp?id=158 .
In the Sunday Independent’s Life magazine reviewer Luncinda O’Sullivan mentions next weekend’s festival alongside great reviews of a few of Kinsale’s restaurants, including Good Food Circle Members Restaurant d’Antibes and Toddies at the Bulman.
