“White Lady Ghost” Returns for Kinsale’s Halloween Weekend Festival Kinsale, where the “White Lady Ghost” resides and home to some of the scariest women in Ireland, Kinsale is to launch a 4-day Halloween Festival Weekend, throughout the heritage town with a spectacular line-up of shows to appeal to all the family.
The scary fest will run from 28-31 October and headline on Halloween Sunday with The Michael Jackson Thriller Tribute at the Carlton Hotel and an explosive Fireworks Display in the picturesque harbour, blasting off between the matinee and evening shows.
“Thriller” is a special tribute show to Michael Jackson. This celebration of the songs of “The King of Pop” will include glittering performances of his hits covering “Billie Jean”, “Thriller”, “Beat It” and “Bad” all the way up to “Earth Song”. Top Michael Jackson impersonator Anthony (Moon) Walker will be backed by the 16-piece “This is It” band, dance troupe and a spectacular visual show. Thriller is a must for any Michael Jackson or Halloween fan.
Tickets will be, €20 per adult, €14 for a child €60 for a family of four. The Fireworks display from James fort Kinsale is free for all.
The Festival starts on Scary Thursday with a Scary Movie Night at The Folk House, Hamlets, The Greyhound, The White House, Daltons & the White Lady, with free screening of classics of the genre.
The Folk House will have a double bill of Brain Dead directed by Peter Jackson and Bride of Frankenstein, who are into the Classics. The Ghost Tour from Mary Taps – starts at 9pm.
Freaky Friday 29th sees the Progressive Pub Trail through the town, with participating pubs; The Folk House, Hamlets, The Greyhound, The White House, Daltons and The White Lady followed by Acton’s After Party Festival Club. Tickets – €30 – to include drink, Halloween Draw and entrance to all venues. Ghost Tour from Mary Taps – 7pm
Shocktober Saturday is the Halloween Street Parade and Voodoo Walk through the narrow winding streets of the town, lead by the “Back to the Future” deLorean Gullwing Sports and other vintages models from the Kinsale Classic Car Club. The Parade will finish at Seaview Cafe with loads of Halloween Activities including Spooky Story Time, Make and Do (all materials supplied), Halloween Games, Competition Corner and Kids Disco. That evening The Lucy French Dance School will return with her unbelievable Monster Mash Show at Hamlets – as part of the Saile Project.
Halloween Sunday culminates in the Michael Jackson Tribute Thriller Show, with Anthony (Moon) Walker and the “This is It” Band at the Carlton Hotel, Kinsale. Matinee 2.30 & Evening Show 7.30pm. The Festival is supported by The Carlton, The Blue Haven Collection, Actons, The Folk House, The Trident, Ballinacurra House and Kinsale Chamber of Tourism, with proceeds going to local Children’s Charities.
