Kinsale Chamber of Business & Tourism and Kinsale Good Food Circle enjoyed a very successful Holiday World last weekend 24-26th January at the RDS, Dublin.

With tens of thousands of visitors over the weekend, and the ‘Kinsale Giant’ and the ‘Ghost of Kinsale’, the stand was kept very busy with enquiries and over 2,500 entries to the competition. Top prize included the chance to win a luxury weekend at the Trident Hotel with Golf at the world famous Old Head of Kinsale Golf Links and dinner at a Kinsale Good Food Circle Restaurant.

Minister of State for Tourism, Michael Ring TD was welcomed to the Kinsale Stand on Saturday afternoon by Hal McElroy, Chairman of Kinsale Chamber of Tourism & Business and Tomas Wrixon of Actons and Maedbh Edwards of Jim Edwards, representing Kinsale Good Food Circle. He complimented ‘Team Kinsale’ on a very professional stand and enjoyed a few tastes of Kinsale – some delicious pates from the Blue Haven Food Company, sponsored by the Kinsale Good Food Circle.

Those who helped out on the stand included Hal and Fred McElroy from the Trident Hotel, Anne Maxwell from Kinsale Historical Tours, Cassandra from The Blue Haven Collection, Liam Edwards from Jim Edwards, Roman Minihane from The White Lady, Mary Evans from Cronin’s, Maedbh Edwards and Mary Therese from Jim Edwards and Tomas Wrixon from Actons.

Anne Ferguson from Ocean Addicts and Jerome Lordan from Kinsale Harbour Cruises are brand ambassadors for the Wild Atlantic Way and were present on the Stand on Saturday.

On the Sunday, Gill Good of Glebe House and Kinsale Yacht Club and Adrian Weistreich from Kinsale Pottery joined Kelly Horgan from Man Friday and Michael Frawley Jr from the White House. Jackie Dawson PR Consultant co-ordinated the stand and connected with many travel media at the event.

Kinsale is the Gateway of Failte Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way (start / finish point) that is sure to attract a number of visitors in 2014. Holiday World was a great kick-start to the new year with plenty more activities and events in the calendar.
