Kinsale goes Green!

Kinsale celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in style with a memorable Maritime Parade on Monday night followed by a full programme of events, culminating with the wonderful Street Parade yesterday.

The weather was perfect for both events; clear skies for the beautifully illuminated boats and fantastic fireworks at the Maritime Parade and a lovely sunny day that encouraged thousands to the streets of Kinsale for the Street Parade, including a number of visitors enjoying a long weekend in Kinsale. Grand Marshall Brian Graham led the way, followed by floats representing schools, sports clubs and all walks of Kinsale community life.

There were plenty of other prizes awarded to schools and groups for innovative and attractive floats. Thanks to photographers John Allen, John Collins and Ger O’Brien for generously sharing their work on social media. More photos to follow on facebook in the coming days!

Special thanks to the hard working St. Patrick’s Day Committee and all the volunteers, for their countless hours ensuring a wonderful weekend in Kinsale.
