As part of European Week of Sport, Kinsale Outdoor Education Centre is holding an Open Day on Saturday 12th September from 10am-4pm, so save the date!
All Ages and all abilities are welcome to this FREE event so why not try out a range of activities including Rock Wall Climbing, Zip Line, Archery, Sailing, Kayaking and Powerboating
Of special interest is the adapted sessions we are running for people with disabilities. Sessions at the centre can be adapted for people with disabilities and Kinsale OEC runs a program of activities adapted for people with special needs including those with ASD.
Kinsale OEC will be using the Hanse sailing dinghy, built specially for disabled people. The boat has adapted steering using a joy stick, the instructor can sit beside the trainee and there is a long heavy keel to prevent capsize.
Staff in Kinsale OEC have trained to work in this area and the focus of these and in all sessions is.. fun and adventure! Also on offer is kayaking in specially adapted boats. Adaptations include out riggers to make the boats more stable and adjusted seating arrangements.
