What’s on in Kinsale over Easter!

Following a very successful weekend last weekend with Bank of Ireland Kinsale Enterprise Town, the Street Food Festival and Chowder Cook Off, there is plenty of entertainment and a number of activities over Easter weekend in Kinsale.

Kinsale Harbour Cruises are back on the water at 2pm today and 2pm & 3pm this weekend and will increase the schedule over the coming weeks.

Also, Don & Barry’s Historic Stroll that leaves Kinsale Tourist Office at 11.15am daily is well worth joining where you will learn much about Kinsale’s history and folklore!

Saturday’s musical entertainment include the Love Junkies at the Blue Haven at 10.30pm with DJ at Hamlet’s from 11pm, Paul Dunworth at The Armada Bar, King K at 10pm at The White House, The Gypsy Fish at the Folkhouse, Irish Draught at Sam’s Bar and DJ Sean at the Bacchus.

Church Services on Easter Sunday include 10am and 12 noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Kinsale, 8.30am and at Kinsale Carmelite Friary, 11.30am at St. Multose Church of Ireland, 11am Baptist Church at Kinsale Temperance Hall and Kinsale Methodist Church at 10am. A number of Kinsale hotels and restaurants have special Easter Sunday menus and musical entertainment continues in many hotels and bars too. see The Kinsale Advertiser for further details.

The Battle of Ballinspittle Duathalon takes place on Easter Monday in Ballinspittle Woods from 11am-2pm. €30.

There is an Easter Monday Afternoon Tea Dance with Danny & Mary O’Leary from 4-7pm at Actons Hotel €10. Also Traditional Irish Music with Arundo at 9.30pm at The Blue Haven Hotel and King K play the Folkhouse at 9.30pm

Atlantic Offshore Adventures starts its Kayaking Course from 10am-1pm, 8-12 yrs. 2pm-5pm, 13-16 yrs.

On Tuesday 18th-20th April inclusive the Kinsale Outdoor Education Centre has its 3 day multi-activity camp and 3 day sail clinic. See for details.

There is also a Kinsale GAA Easter camp from 10am-1pm from 18th-20th April. Registration forms available at Maurice Murphy’s. Kinsale Tennis Club is running an under 12s tennis camp this week from 10am-1pm. contact [email protected] for details.

For younger children, The Blue Haven has a puppet show and disco at 11am entitled ‘Silly Billy Monkey Puppet Show’ €5 per child. call The Blue Haven 021 4772209 to book at place.

On Friday 21st April, the Fleadh Cheoil Chorcai officially opens and runs throughout the weekend. More details to follow next week.

Save the date for Kinsale Rampart Players’ performance of ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ at Actons Hotel from Monday 24th-Friday 28th April at 8pm.
