Fantastic turnout and support for the launch of the Kinsale Community Energy Project which was hosted by Transition Town Kinsale last week. It was a full-house at the Friary Centre with great representation from residents, community groups and businesses alike. This initiative is supported and funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority Ireland as a way of bringing communities together in a bottom up approach to improving energy efficiency and sustainability.
John Thuillier (HSE Dispensary Building) and Donal Chambers (Kinsale college) spoke from a community perspective while Chamber members Brendan Tyrell (Trident and Actons Hotels) and Andy Ashford (Kilcaw House B&B) also volunteered to take part in The Energy Master Plan for the area. Senator Tim Lombard and Councillor Gillian Coughlan also attended and offered their support to the project.
