Spectacular country, coastal and woodland walks
Walk commences from the Hotel and heads out through coastal woodlands around the outer harbour headland, along the coast to Broadstrand Beach. Thereafter to Blindstrand for a rest stop and returning through Barryroe side of Courtmacsherry to the Hotel. Walking Boots needed and a packed lunch. Total distance 14KM. Amazing scenery and views across the Bay to the Old Head of Kinsale. Blindstrand is a beautiful cove of historical interest as it is from this bay that the Courtmacsherry Lifeboat set out to row to the Lusitania just over 100 years ago.
Walk commences from the School downhill and over the New Kinsale Bridge turning left down to the Dock and around James Fort, back through the dock beach and up over the hill towards Sandycove with spectacular views of the Bandon Estuary to the right. Taking the Sandycove turn and up the hill and around the Sandycove Loop with a rest stop at the bay. After a break following the bay around and back to the Sandycove turn and make a RIGHT back over the hill to the Dock (NOT left on to the dangerous main road) and retrace the route from the Dock back to the school. Total 16km Boots or walking shoes and a packed lunch needed
All walks guided and marshalled. Full details with maps, route information, online registration available at www.kinsalelionswalkingfestival.com
