OHK Cafe has celebrated a whole year of their signature Cruffins made by their master baker Evanna Lyons who joined the team last year.

Morbi vitae purus dictum, ultrices tellus in, gravida lectus.

It’s all about the morning rituals at the trendy cafe, the rush of people needing their fix of coffee and pastries once the doors open at this unmissable foodie spot. It’s the most buzzy part of the day for sister duo Sarah and Carol and their team.

During the lockdown, the family-run business really wanted to elevate their pastry game and deliver something special – ‘a show stopping’ pastry unique to them and equally something fun and creative to work on in the kitchen. They wanted to create a ‘breakfast dessert’ and the Cruffin is exactly that!

Their Cruffins are emblematic of the cafe; creative, larger than life, a labour of love and, of course, delicious. These delicacies are stuffed with layers of hand-rolled laminated dough filled with the most outrageous combinations created by baker Evanna. In the past year they have served up flavours from Key Lime Pie – Black Forest Gateaux – NYC Cheesecake – Rhubarb and Custard – Strawberry Shortbread – Ferrero Rocher – S’mores – Peach Melba – Apple Pie.

For the festive season, they jarred up some delicious house curds, ganaches, jams and caramels that they piped into their cruffin’s and offered as in-house as ‘Cruffin Stuffins’ which was a delicious success.

They change flavours each month which allows them to experiment with seasonal ingredients and play around with nostalgic or traditional combinations. For summer they are already brainstorming the perfect 99 ice cream flavour… YUM!
