The Artists

Kate French

Kate works in many different disciplines, including stained-glass, textiles, print, and combined materials though she works mainly in stone. She was educated in Florence Italy, learning to sculpt in various different ways. One of the most predominant goals of her work is trying to capture the energy before and after movement.

Phillip French

Philip is interested in high saturation of colour, creating powerful imaginary, exploring the surroundings and his own imagination. After finishing his masters at the royal college of art London, he moved to Kinsale with wife Kate. Since arriving in Ireland, he’s found the harmony and peace of these shores most inspiring, which has helped him produce some of his strongest pictures.

Kit French

Kit works in the tradition of naturalism, he works predominately from life with no photographic aids. He attempts not to have style, rather to allow the surroundings, mood, and life events to show him the way forward. All his work is one of a kind, as he does not do prints. He only uses the finest materials as the longevity of his work is very important to him. Each year he works towards an exhibition, in Gallery 23. He also is a portrait artist, using a method he learned from his Classical education at Charles H Cecil atelier Florence Italy and he is available for commissions.
