As a teenager, the brand’s founder, Eve developed a deep appreciation for the natural world and a passion for protecting the environment. As a self-confessed former high-street shopping addict, she felt there was a disconnect between her ethics and her choices as a consumer. She began to search for an alternative to fast-fashion and discovered the world of vintage.

While collecting unique vintage gems for her personal wardrobe from places she visited abroad, Eve noticed that there was a lack of choice for consumers in Ireland when it came to vintage. This sparked the idea to create Sister Vintage, a brand that allowed conscious consumers to get excited about fashion, and fashion enthusiasts to be more aware of their consumption. Following a year of selling at vintage markets and fairs around Ireland, the bricks and mortar shop opened its doors in The Glen, Kinsale in October 2023.

The store stocks womenswear, menswear, and accessories ranging from 1960s – 1990s. In order to ensure quality and to find the most unique pieces, Eve travels to Europe to hand-pick every item from trusted suppliers. Each collection is then carefully curated to guarantee customers a selection of high-calibre, unique, and authentic vintage clothing.

By offering a curated selection of high-quality vintage pieces, Sister Vintage hopes to encourage people to shop in a more conscious and sustainable way by making the vintage shopping experience more accessible and ultimately inspiring shoppers to consider bringing this awareness into every facet of their lives. 

Ultimately, Sister Vintage was created to share and cultivate an appreciation for vintage clothing and encourage circular fashion to minimise the industry’s immense environmental impact.
