Don’s connection to the ocean began in childhood, growing up near the vibrant shores at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way. The tides, shifting light, and ever-changing moods of the water sparked an imagination that would stay with him forever. He picked up a paintbrush at seventeen, beginning a journey that took him from London to the Channel Islands and France, working with renowned design houses and refining a unique artistic vision along the way.

After returning to Ireland, Don spent over 30 years as a decorative artist, creating large-scale works for private clients and commercial spaces. Yet it was life near the lighthouse at the Old Head of Kinsale that truly shaped his expressionist style. Winter winds, stormy seas, surfing adventures, and days spent exploring the West Cork coastline with his children all became part of his visual language.

Today, Don’s expressionist seascapes capture the many temperaments of the Atlantic—from quiet dawns to powerful storms—blending reality and imagination in vivid, atmospheric detail.
