Founded by textile artist Rebecca Powell, the Collective was born from a vision to create a shared space where local artists and makers can come together to showcase and sell their work. Built on collaboration rather than competition, it reflects the belief that creativity thrives when nurtured within community.

Inside, visitors will find a carefully curated selection of handmade and locally produced work, including textiles, weaving, oil and watercolour paintings, sterling silver jewellery, natural skincare, eco-printed fabrics, felted vessels, seaglass art, mixed media pieces, prints, cards, and one-of-a-kind wearable art. Every item tells a story and reflects the talent and diversity of makers across West Cork.

More than a shop, West Cork Collective is also a creative hub. The space is available for workshops, classes, talks, and community gatherings, offering opportunities for learning, sharing skills, and connecting with others in a meaningful way. Visitors are invited to browse, meet the makers, and engage directly with the creative process.

The workshop programme also extends into specialist creative courses and even herbal medicine sessions with April Danann, alongside seasonal and rotating classes that reflect the skills of resident and visiting artists. Classes typically run from morning into early afternoon, creating a vibrant daily rhythm within the space and offering visitors the chance to learn directly from practicing creatives.

At its core, the Collective responds to a growing desire for authenticity, connection, and slower, more intentional experiences. It is a place where art is not only displayed but lived—where visitors can step away from digital noise and reconnect with tangible craft and human interaction.
