2019 Kinsale Regatta Festival

Kinsale Regatta Festival 2019 – will again have a range of activities, on land and sea, for people of all ages and abilities. Celebrating 223 years, the oldest Regatta in Ireland set in one of Ireland’s most spectacular harbours and the Regatta is a fun packed week, with many land-based events in addition to the traditional water activities. These range from ocean yachts to mixed dingy racing, a long-distance swim around Sandycove Island, and children’s sailing.
Wednesday JULY 31st
7.30pm: Adults’ Open Boules Competition at the Town Park.
Thursday AUG 1st
8.00pm: Official Opening of Kinsale Regatta Festival 2019 by Nicholas Cooke at the Plaza, Short Quay. Opening followed by music by Michael Ahern and friends.
Friday AUG 2nd
7.30pm Riverstick AC & Kinsale Tri-Club Regatta Road Race starting from Kinsale G.A.A. Grounds, finishing at the Bank of Ireland. In aid of Kinsale RNLI
*Prize giving afterwards at Temperance Hall.
Saturday AUG 3rd
11.30am: Children’s & Adult swimming at the Dock Beach
2.00pm: Children’s Rowing & Kayaking from the middle slip.
3.00pm: R.N.L.I. Raft Race. Pier to the Pier.
8.00pm: Music with DJ Seamus Corkery on stage at the Plaza, Short Quay.
Sunday AUG 4th
1.30pm: R.N.L.I. Kinsale Lifeboat “Open Day” at Lifeboat Station, Worlds End.
2.00pm: Sailing Regatta
2.00pm: Story Telling at Kinsale Bookshop, Main Street, Kinsale.
3.00pm: Blarney Brass Band.
3.00pm: Activities on the Pier including Custom Dog Display and Children’s Activities.
7.00pm: Children’s / Adults fancy dress parade, starting in the new car park on New Road.
8.00pm: Music with King K and Emily Rose at the Plaza, Short Quay.
10.15pm: Monster Fireworks Display, also Zap Cats Display
Monday Aug 5th
11.00am: Children’s Races and GAA Skills competition at Kinsale GAA Club Grounds.
2.00pm: Sailing Regatta.
3.30pm: Water Carnival with lots of events for all ages, including Greasy Pole and Pillow Fight.
8.00pm: Traditional Irish Music with “Irish Weavers” at the Plaza, Short Quay.
Tuesday Aug 6th
7.30pm: Emigrants’ Welcome Home Gathering at the Temperance Hall.
Wednesday Aug 7th
7.30pm: Adults’ Boules Finals at the Town Park.
Thursday Aug 8th
6.00pm: GAA Underage Blitz for boys and girls at the GAA Grounds.
Friday Aug 9th
7.00pm: Children‘s Open Boules Competition at the Town Park
