Step into the forgotten world of ÉRIU, the ancient goddess who gave her name to Ireland, through a captivating exhibition by artists Ann Collins and Rebecca Powell at West Cork Collective Gallery.

This special exhibition brings together textile art, photography and mixed media works inspired by Ireland’s landscapes, mythology and deep connection to the natural world. Through their distinctive artistic practices, both artists explore themes of place, belonging, heritage and the enduring spirit of the Irish landscape.

Ann Collins

Textile artist Ann Collins draws inspiration from the beauty and richness of the Irish countryside. Her work combines stitch, thread and naturally dyed fabrics to create pieces that reflect both the landscape and the meditative process of making.

Using plant materials and rust dyeing techniques, Ann transforms everyday natural elements into intricate textile artworks. Each stitch becomes part of a journey, creating pieces that celebrate Ireland’s ever-changing beauty.

Rebecca Powell

Known for her textile work and photography, Rebecca Powell’s practice is rooted in a deep appreciation for Ireland’s wild places. Her work explores the connection between people and nature, celebrating landscapes, found treasures and the abundance of the natural world.

Inspired by the idea that we are not separate from nature but intrinsically connected to it, Rebecca’s artworks invite viewers to look more closely at the beauty and stories that surround us.
