Let’s make Kinsale the First Sustainable Energy Town in Ireland!

March 7, 2019 @ 7:30 pm

Transition Town Kinsale (TTK) would like to invite all Chamber members to the official launch of the Kinsale Community Energy Project (K-CEP) on Thursday 7th March 2019 at 7.30pm in The Friary Centre, Kinsale.

K-CEP is supported by The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland’s (SEAI) Community Grant Scheme, which in addition to grant aid also offers businesses and residential property owners a closer support network and greater bulk buying power for upgrades to insulation, low cost lighting, smart heating controls, and high efficiency renewable energy systems such as heat pumps or solar power installs. There is also a ‘deep-retrofit’ grant for larger projects.

If we work together as a community we can drastically reduce our energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions and make Kinsale the very first Sustainable Energy Town in Ireland!

K-CEP also recently received support from the SEAI to carry out an ‘Energy Master Plan’ for the area.

We are therefore currently looking for a cross section of different properties owners to volunteer to take part in our energy audit for the Kinsale area.

So if you are interested in being involved or just curious to find out more about the type of grants available, please come along on Thursday 7th March 2019 at 7.30pm in The Friary Centre, Kinsale.
